Jamie McDonald is the Founder of Generosity Inc. Jamie's mission is to spur people to give, act and innovate on behalf of communities, causes and schools.
After 16 years as an investment banker, Jamie shifted her personal mission from startups and venture capital to innovation and growth of the generosity economy. She launched Generosity Inc. after the acquisition of GiveCorps, a crowdfunding and peer fundraising platform she founded. GiveCorps was acquired by Network for Good, the nation’s largest online charitable giving platform in 2014.
At Generosity Inc, Jamie advises impact-focused CEOs and works on large scale social movements around the country.
In addition to working with causes on technology activation, giving days and fundraising, Jamie is one of six members of the global #GivingTuesday team at the 92nd Street Y, the founders of the movement. Previously, Jamie led BMore Gives More, the movement that raised $5.7 million in a day and earned Baltimore the #MostGenerousCity in America honor on #GivingTuesday 2013. In 2014, she served as lead advisor to MD Nonprofits’ MD Gives More campaign that raised $9.2 million, as well as leading Network for Good's record-breaking #GivingTuesday campaign, which engaged nearly 4000 nonprofits in a day of generosity tallying more than $4 Million. In 2016, She guided nearly 80 communities around the country on civic campaigns for #GivingTuesday, in her role as Head of Civic Campaigns for 92Y. Jamie also serves as the Director of the Warnock Foundation.
Jamie writes and speaks about online engagement and giving, next generation philanthropy, and the rise of giving movements as a force for changing communities.
